Inter House Spell Bee Competition

Inter House Spell Bee Competition

Spelling deserves a much higher status in the attention of reading educators. It is a visible record of language processing, it is language written down. - Dr. Louisa Moats

In today’s world, when everything has become fast-paced, the usage of standardized spelling in English language has suffered the most. We at MMIS strongly believe that standardized spellings enable students to understand writing, to aid communication and ensure clarity.

To encourage the young students of classes VI-VIII to use standardized spelling, an Inter House Spell Bee Competition was conducted in the school recently. After a neck- to- neck competition in five interesting rounds, the participants of Ramanujan House, taking lead from the beginning, won the Competition. Bhabha House and Raman House emerged to be the I and II Runners up of the event.

The comprehensive learning process not only helped the students gain competency over vocabulary but also got them interested in exploring the etymology of every word that they would come across.
