Kindergarten Program

MMIS offers a curriculum that inspires love for learning.

Kindergarten is an exciting step in a child’s elementary school journey. With age-specific curriculum and skill-building activities, we make sure that a child leaves us excited about learning and confident enough to take the big leap to first grade.

On entry into the School, each pupil is placed in a Form Group of not more than 25 students under a ‘Form Tutor’ who will be responsible for monitoring all aspects of progress and welfare. The Form Tutor is the first point of contact for parents on any issue concerning the child. The School actively encourages strong links with parents to ensure that at all times they are kept fully informed on all concerns that they or the school may have.

Our research-based kindergarten program includes

  • Low teacher-to-child ratios and a constant focus on children’s unique needs
  • Curriculum that teaches lifelong habits, including citizenship and social responsibility
  • Self-directed investigations, small group work, and teacher-directed assignments and activities
  • Handwriting, math, and reading enrichment programs
  • Safety, security, and cleanliness practices that meet or exceed all state, local, and national guidelines
  • Important Connections: Welcoming environments that encourage meaningful, engaging, and respectful interactions
  • Language Process: An emergent curriculum that incorporates each child’s interests and inspires children to be co-creators of their own learning
  • Social Skills: A focus on problem-solving, decision-making, creativity, negotiation, emotional intelligence, and collaboration
  • Open-Ended STEM Activities: Technology and materials for creating, engineering, tinkering, inventing, and innovating; and spaces for discovery and experimentation
  • Routine: Child-directed choice and school-age rituals to offer stability and boost independence
