Earth Day Celebration

Albeit staying at home, MMIS, Mullana’s students celebrated Earth Day with full zest on 22nd April 2021. The students were virtually engaged in meaningful activities to show their devotion and admiration for Mother Earth.

At the onset of the Virtual Classes, the students were versed about the Earth Day and its significance. They were also informed that the day focuses on promoting clean living and a healthy, sustainable habitat for people, flora and fauna. This awareness talk was conducted as a conscious reminder for protecting our planet.

Pertaining to this year’s theme of ‘Restore Our Earth’, plethora activities were planned to stimulate students’ interest in environmental causes and at the same time hone their talent.

Pre -School –I & II toddlers participated in Crown Making activity whereas the students of Grade I & II enjoyed Necklace Making Activity.

In grade 3 to 4 the little artists were involved in making Piggi Bank using waste plastic bottles.

Grade 5 to 6 participated in Bird Feeder Making by using bio-degradable materials such as dried leaves, thread, cloth, peels etc. 

Cloth Bags Making Activity was planned for grade 7 & 8 to aware the students about benefits of using cloth bags and to alert them about the damage caused by excessive use of polythene.

These activities added great excitement to the event and made the students understand the application of 5R’s. There were a huge number of entries for all the activities.

Despite the dire situation, humanity is aware, that we need to protect the Earth. Hence, the Principal, Ms. Sunita Dosaj, the faculty and students pledged to replenish our planet, become global citizens and work for the cause of sustainable development.
